Two Layouts

I have made it a goal to do more digi-scrapping to get on top of the kid's albums.

So here are two I have done in the last few days:

I have a creative space!!

Ok for ages I have been wanting a place to store my fabric and other creative stuff. I was sick of my baby girl getting into my quilting basket and EATING my pins. :S
Then in a pre-menstural fit I made the executive decision to get rid of our formal dining room, which is barely used for dining, and it's just for show really - and I made it into a creative space.

My dear husband moved in a cuboard, shelves and a desk from the shed for storage. In the future, when we can afford to, we will Ikea the room out and paint it etc. But for now, it's mismatched and I am using shoe boxes for storage etc.... but it's all mine and I am so pleased!!



I covered some tins to store pens and scissors etc


I covered this shoe box in some fabric. I plan to cover all my cardboard boxes with this fabric.


This is where I sit and sew.


I made this sewing machine cover. I kinda winged it, thinking it would be a good experience to try and work out how to make it myself. It's not perfect but I am pleased with it.



This is just the start of my creative space. I plan to do ALOT more to this room as time goes on. It's a blank canvas. I can't wait to make this space beautiful!

Another finished quilt!

I had such a lovely day yesterday. My husband is so sweet and gave me time and space to work on AND finish my raggy quilt that I started a while ago.



The squares and wadding were taking up space on my table and I just wanted the project finished. So I spent much of yesterday, putting this baby together and "ragging" the edges.



It was such a relaxing day. I want more Saturdays like this. :)

So here it is!!



Oh and here is my handbag that I made too. :)





This week I have 2 uni assignments due, so I better finish those before I make something else!! I'll plod away on my hand piecing of Mop's quilt while I watch the TV in the evenings... and stay away from the sewing machine until my assignments are done!

Finally!!!

I have been so busy, I haven't had time to update my latest projects!

First of all, this is my Mother's Day creation I made for my dear Mum. It's a quilted shopping bag. It's very roomy and tall so she could fit lots of bits and bobs in there. I was really happy with how it turned out, and of course she LOVED it.





I made this card for her for Mother's Day:




I also made another pencil roll, a different pattern this time. I didn't like it as much because it doesn't lay flat, but I DID like that it took me half the time!!




This is for a little boy. I just love the fabrics - very bright and cheeful. I am weighing up if I should make him a little tote bag to go with it. I'll see how I go this weekend. But this needs mailing off on Monday.



I also made myself a handbag, but haven't gotten around to taking photos as yet. I'll do that soon.

I'm still plodding away on the flowery raggy quilt. I need to get that done asap because that is taking up alot of space in my work area! I also want to get on with Milly's raggy quilt before the real cold sets in. I might try finish piecing this quilt over the weekend... right after my uni assignments! :)
