I did it myyyyyy way!

I've been thinking about making my own planner stickers ever since I ran out of the stickers that Car sent me last year. I couldn't find stamps that were exactly what I wanted. You know how it is... you just sit with an idea and let it percolate. I tried printing onto post-it notes but again... not what I wanted. Last week I decided what I wanted and what I needed. I wanted stickers that would replace the repetitive stuff in my planner. I wanted stickers that I have as headings: such as my uni column and my creative column.

I ordered some matte adhesive a4 paper and printed up some. It wasn't too hard! And here we have them - all cut up and ready to use! I will begin using them properly once the kids go back to school.

In hopes that it will prompt me to blog more.

Uni labels

Crafty labels

Daily stuff I do.

And I can stick these on my lecture days weeks in advance!

These stickers cost around $1. Love love LOVE being able to get exactly what I want inexpensively!

Got a colouring-in done.

Enjoying some of my birthday loot:

Post it notes for my new organiser.
Scrapbooking paper, a to-do list pad, yarn, mason jar mug
A sewing box (which I have wanted for SUCH a long time!), yarn, embroidery scissors and a basket to store my projects in.
My dear husband went shopping at Kikki-k for me!! I am stoked!!

Advent Blog Along #19

What I am creating:
I'm being boring and still doing hexies. Although I did do a colouring page as well.

What I am doing:
Today, Hubby and I wrapped up all the Christmas pressies and stuffed the stockings. We also did a last minute dash to the shops because we realized that two of Mop's gifts hadn't arrived!

Advent Blog Along #12,13,14 & 15

What I am doing:
Hello! I'm hooooome! We had a lovely time chilling at a beach-side location. I coped very well with the gorgeous weather and playing with the kids. We arrived yesterday afternoon and since then I have been doing washing and unpacking.  My brother popped in with his girls for lunch which was lovely. I did manage to squeeze in some time to do an Advent Activity with the kids today.

Why is it so hard to catch all three with their eyes open and looking at me?? *sigh*

Rocky road with a twist... this has mars bar in it! YUMM!

And of course baking with kids is not complete until they are licking the bowls and spoons.

One of the finished products of today's efforts. Cranberry and white chocolate short bread.

What I am creating:

Today has been so flat out I haven't had a chance to do much creative, apart from playing with lettering on my envelopes.

Advent Blog Along #9

What I am creating:

Today I finished off the lavender eye masks - and they are now packaged up and ready for gifting. Excuse the grainy photo but the sun had set and I wanted to get it before I got the awful orange glow of our lights!

I tried to make the Christmas card envelopes look pretty by experimenting with lettering.

That was actually kind of fun!

These are the soap stuffed scrubbies that I crocheted a while back. I love them! Definitely a gift idea I will be repeating!

I had a ARRRRRGHHH! Moment a few hours ago when my darling dearest son mentions to me that he has THREE aides instead of the two he had last year. I had only sorted Christmas presents out for two aides. Cue a panicked scramble!! I dug out a spare crochet bag that I made last year and whipped up another eye mask. Seriously son... don't do that to me!! Thankfully I sometimes make extras when gift making.

What I am doing:
I spent most of today out and about. The boy had speech therapy, then I spent the rest of the day searching for bathers. Why did it take all day? Well..... my big girl wants to be modest yet not look like a granny. The result - hours and hours and hours and HOURS of shopping. We finally found a pair that she is happy with and she looks her age. Ahhh the perks of having a very womanly looking 12 year old girl. While I was bather shopping these just jumped into my trolley....

I've been thinking about the new year coming up and what I want it to look like. I have been rethinking how I do New Year's resolutions and I want them to evolve as I change and grow as a person. I will tell you more in the New Year - but it will be impacting my creative life. Stay tuned!

Advent Blog Along #8

What I am creating:

This is to go into the teacher's gift bags. I am so pleased I had enough for me!! It has some of my beautiful DoTerra peppermint essential oil and along with the subtle scent of coconut - and after scrubbing my skin I can't decide whether I want to eat myself or bury my face in my baby soft skin. This stuff is awesome and I shall be making more of this!!

I embroidered a Christmas Tree ornament and I have hung it on the outside of the bag. I have red and gold ones as well.

All this creating is making a right mess - I'm drowning at my desk. Tomorrow after all the creating is done, I am going to give everything a good tidy up and have my hub ready for the next round of creating.

What I am doing:
Poor Mop injured her ankle yesterday so was forced to stay home today and rest it - under protest!! The rest of her classmates were going to have a busy day filled with lots of tearing around and water games. So today was a fairly quiet one.
Today's Advent Activity was to paint wooden angels.

They didn't quite get enough time to finish them before dinner - so I will show you the finished product tomorrow.

Advent Blog Along #7

What I am creating:
Today was a productive day! The deadline for teacher's gifts is looming! So I got cracking. Here is a sneak preview of what I got up to today. All will be revealed when they are finished.

 Sewing.....
... and making cute labels!

What I am doing:
Tonight's Advent activity was that the kids wrapped the presents they bought for Daz and myself.  I can't show pictures of this because we will then find out what we got for Christmas! Can't spoil their fun now!!

Advent Blog Along #5

Today was a really quiet and easy day. I like those days.

What I am creating:

I also did a bit more work on my hexie quilt. This baby will be ready to be basted pretty soon!

What I am doing:

It was stinking hot today. A perfect day for washing all the bedding and a good time to change over from winter bedding to summer weight bedding. It was a perfect day for swimming and hibernating indoors. Our Advent activity today was reading a Christmas story together which was fun.

Advent Blog Along #3

What I am creating:

Colouring-in... I was in a bit of a dark mood when I started this, but by the time I had finished I felt a lot better. I can tell my mood by the colours I chose LOL!

I pulled out the old hexie quilt top again with the aim to finish this top and ready for hand quilting before I start my next scrap project with my quilting group in February.

What I am listening to:

(This song always reminds me of my Pops (who passed away 13 years ago. I always miss him at Christmas time.)

What I am doing:

Getting excited because it's getting closer and closer!!

Choosing fabric for another present to make. I am pleased to say this came from my stash, so stash slashing is still happening!

And finally..... drum roll please......

The girls finished the-craft-project-from-hell.

They are pleased with it and have proudly hung it in their rooms.

It's been a busy day and I am looking forward to a quiet evening.

And on this second day of Advent, this is what my day looked like.....

What I am doing:
Remember those Advent Activities?? Well those woolen wreaths?? Let's just say I am having less than devotional thoughts about my mother in law at this moment. WHO thought that this would be a great craft for kids is beyond me!! So tomorrow I am bringing out my glue gun and going to stick the hell out of the stupid thing, get it finished and move onto much cooler crafts that don't require a trip to the psyche ward afterwards!!! *pant pant*

I hereby make this declaration: Any crafts that require my constant input will be tossed promptly in the bin. There is no joy in it for me, or the kids.

But here is EJ's project - all finished and he is proud as punch with it.

It's that time of year! {Advent Blog Along #1}

It's Advent Blog Along time! My most favouritest time to blog!

If you haven't joined in on this fun time, give it a go. You get to blog whatever you are doing during advent and it's loads of fun. If you are joining - let our lovely host over at Carrose Creations know.

I'm going to do Advent Blog along a little different this year. My format won't be it's usual wordy way - instead it will be short, sharp and shiny and in list format. Getting my listography on!

So on the first day of Advent, this is what my day looked like:

What I am creating

(colouring-in)

What I am listening to

What I am doing

(this is Advent Angel, who tells the kids what their special Advent-activity is for the day)

We started off using a wreath kit that MIL sent the kids to do.

So it started out alright.....

But then this happened.......

After an hour of trying to untangle cheap, nasty horrible yarn, I threw it in the bin in a fit of frustration and got some of my own yarn from my stash out for the girls to use tomorrow.

The boy faired better, and made a Christmas countdown craft. He did very well and was able to do it all on his own.

Tomorrow hopefully I will be able to show you the finished product, when they finish the project.
