I was halfway to Alice Springs before I realised that my tote bag that I have had for at least 10 years was starting to disintegrate, leaving bits of vinyl all over the place. I made up my mind that when I got to Darwin I would buy a new one. But who knew that Darwin had the suck factor on shopping!!?? So I pulled out a crochet hook and some scrap yarn that I had bought for making squares for a scrap wool blanket and began hooking away. By the time I left Darwin, I had a brand new tote bag!
