A New Year, a New craft

My friends will know this, but I will tell you all out there in blogger land - the whole zero that read this blog..... anyway, I digress... 2013 was a pretty awful year for me. Physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally my life went down the toilet. I don't want to go into the ins and outs of it, but in a nutshell, the cost of having two ASD kids and the level of care and therapies they required meant that I lived this crazy, stressful way for too long. I got burnt out. My psychologist helped me bring back a level of balance and stressed the importance of taking care of myself.

This year I am going to keep a journal. Not a "Dear Diary, today I went to the supermarket and bought 6 loaves of bread" kind of journal. One that will help me live in a balanced way. One that will make me think about all the areas of my life that I need to invest in and address them.  It's for writing and doodling in. It's not supposed to be perfect - just a creative way to invest in my mental health.

So today I went out and made a few purchases. A visual arts diary, some water colours and some Sharpies.

Next time I will buy some more things that I can pretty up my journal with. But for now.... this is a start.
