FMQ venting

I don't understand it, I really don't!!
I got my machine all sorted out for FMQ. I adjusted the tension. I practiced on 4 sandwhiches, making sure that everything will be ok. They were the same material and wadding as the real piece. It looked perfect! WOOT!. So.... I get my real quilt out and then all of a sudden... nooooo it doesn't want to be ok anymore. There are loops, there the cottons snaps, it's all going ape! What happened? I didn't change the cotton (Guitermann stuff) - I didn't do anything.
So I spent the next few hours cleaning my machine and trying to adjust the tension.... and it's still not happy. Missed stitches is about the best I can get at the moment.

I seriously want to to pick up my machine and throw it to the other side of the suburb! Why is it that it worked for the practice piece but because I have a deadline of 3 weeks and 5 days to finish 2 quilts - it won't work!!!

ARRRGHHHHH!!!!!

Is it making funny noises or anything? Last time that happened to me, in a very similar scenario - it would work perfectly on scrap material but terribly on the real thing.... I took it for a service and sadly it never came home. Mine was really old but I had cracked the cam shaft or something and it resulted in skipped stitches and odd tension. They couldn't get a part for it, but yours might just need a doctors visit, hopefully!

I know how frustrating it can be, for sure!
