I have nothing to show you!!

Allo!!!

I'm sorry to say, that I have nothing to show you. I have been working so faithfully on a few projects but have nothing finished to show.

So what have I been doing??

I have been basting a gazillion circles on my son's quilt top. I would like to have them all basted on ready for when we go on our big driving holiday at Easter time. I want to work on it while we drive and while I have a quiet moment while holidaying!

I have also made a start on Mop's quilt. I have taught myself embroidery and I'm just finishing up another picture which I'll sew on her quilt later. Once I have finished that, I am going to start cutting some fabric up - because I plan to hand sew the top. :) I want all that cut up by Easter time too so I can take that with me, just in case I get sick of circles!

I just made myself another one of those shopping bags. This time I got it right!! WOOT!! It looks really nice and it's in my handbag, ready to whip out when I make a purchase.

So I haven't been idle... just working on massive projects. When my embroidery piece is done, I'll take piccies and show. :)

My first shot at embroidery.

I know it's not much, but it's a start.

This is my first embroidered piece, done with three different stitches. French Knots, Running Stitch and Backstitch. I am proud of my efforts.

I've found some pictures that I plan to embroider for Mop's quilt, and I'll make a start on them soon enough. I just need to finalise sizes of the squares and all that.

Excuse the dodgy photography skills...

Challenge # 2

This time Gail set the challenge.

It had to be about our kids - what I love most about you.

So here is my layout.

Challenge #1 - 10 things I love about you.

My partner in crime (Gail) and I have decided to do Digi scrapping challenges to encourage us to keep up to date with our albums.

The first challenge was entitled "10 things I love about you" and it had to be about our husbands.

Here is Gail's: her journalling made me all teary.

And here is mine:

Shopping bag

I went shopping this week and found some awesome fabric.
Photobucket

I made up a shopping bag. Since alot of shops I frequent now no longer provide plastic bags - which is a good thing - I find myself looking at the bags for sale with distaste.

So I found this really cool tute, and decided to give this a go. I totally botched it up and it's not as awesome as it can be - but I learned alot for when I do some more!

The fabric I used was some curtain fabric, it's lined so therefore makes the bag feel thicker and it's stronger than plain ol calico. I loved the pattern on this one.

Though don't look too closely - you can see some threads I missed cutting off. :)

They are quite roomy and I think they will be great to use.
